A trip to Dr. Spencer

Date: 02/09/2009
Appointment: 1:45PM

Ethan had his 2nd shot of Hepatitis vaccine this afternoon. I went home early to pick up and he was still sleeping when i arrived home. I held him in my arms and he opened his eyes and put away his pacifier and with his gently voice he said: mommy. It was always nice to hear him say mommy.

We drove to Kaiser Hospital and it was raining hard. We checked in and not long, Ethan's name was called. The nurse took his weight, height and head measurements. I demonstrated each tasks so he would follow me and cooperated with the nurse. And he did.

At 20 months and 15 days, here's the result:
Weight: 32 lbs
Height: 34 inches.

Then, we entered Dr. Spencer's room and Ethan said: "no...no..." and he made a u-turn, trying to get out of the room. I realized then that he recogniced the place and he understands that this place is no fun.

Dr. Spencer came in and checked Ethan's ears, eyes and mouth and he cooperated very well. Good job, Ethan. He only cried when he got his shot, but no more than 5 seconds. Dr. Spencer didn't give him any tylenol since he didn't have any fever on his last shot (when he was 12 months old). And everything is fine and healthy, and Ethan responded well to Dr. Spencer's instructions.

We thank God for all Ethan's growth and progress that he's had.
